Gateway Devil Hawk Flight Chart
The Gateway Devil Hawk is a low-profile, overstable putt & approach disc featuring a thumb-track and beaded wing. Manufacturer flight numbers: 3 | 3 | 0 | 4. Built to handle torque and wind, it excels as a driving putter and for straight-then-dump approaches that stick. Common plastics include Sure Grip (baseline feel) and Platinum (premium durability), with occasional Gateway blend variants.
Newer Players: Straight Push, Confident Finish
Expect a short, straight push before a strong, predictable fade (RHBH). The shallow feel and thumb-track add control on 100–200 ft approaches. It won’t turn over easily, so think “point and crash.”
Controlled Approaches for Intermediates
Flat releases fly neutral out of the hand and finish on time. On hyzer, the Devil Hawk holds the edge and dumps reliably; on slight anhyzer it flexes out without burning. Great for headwinds and low-skip landings.
Advanced Lines and Driving Putter Duty
Use it as your torque-proof driving putter: powered throws stay on line and fade hard, forehand or backhand. The thumb-track enhances grip security for committed releases in rough footing or wind.
Forehand Touch and Utility
The thin profile comes out clean on short FH shots. Expect a flat start, then a brisk, late move. Excellent for forehand approaches that must finish left (RHFH) without risking unwanted turn.
